What began as a project to reprint the entire run of Deans’ now-defunct CRASS FED COMICS’ web comic which ran from 2012 to 2016 soon turned into a journey of self-reflection. Having drawn voraciously in his early years, a series of events propelled Deans into depression and decisions that took him away from art completely for years.
Nearly four decades later, a single drawing led to a reinvigorated hobby that became a form of self-therapy at one of Deans’ most difficult times.
FIFTY YEARS OF ART is a memoir of art, an atypical childhood, and how rediscovering art at 40 helped the author pull himself out of a deep depression.
Available late 2022. Features all 200 comics published at the now defunct crassfedcomics.com site, plus commentary on key cartoons. Special hardcover edition available at Heroes Con in June.
